Chianti wine & San Gimignano Tour

Full day tour to discover the Chianti Classico wine district and the “Manhattan” of the Middle Ages

With this tour we’ll discover the fine wines of Chianti! We will tour the vineyards and wine cellar of farms in the heart of the “Chianti” wine area, getting an up-close look at the production and ageing process of the Chianti wines and also learning about the secret of the extra virgin olive oil making.
This wonderful experience will include wine tasting and the opportunity to buy some of the best Tuscan wines.
We’ll then visit San Gimignano: a small walled medieval hilltop town, known as the Town of Fine Towers, it is famous for its medieval architecture and with its encircling walls forms “an unforgettable skyline”.
I am not going to give you a lecture, I will be informative but I won’t overdo with too many dates and names, I will make your visit fun with anecdotes and legends, you will have time to enjoy a typical local meal, a coffee or an ice cream: I know you are here on holiday and your holiday is meant to be enjoyable and fun!

I’ll meet you at your hotel/accommodation in Florence, or in another town in Tuscany.

Chianti region:

  • Greve in Chianti (town within the “Chianti Classico” wine district; wine tasting)
  • Panzano in Chianti (town within the “Chianti Classico” wine district; wine tasting)

San Gimignano:

  • Collegiata Church (inside; with unic Medieval and Renaissance frescoes)
  • Palazzo del Popolo (inside; it has been the seat of the civic authority in the comune since the 13th century)
  • Piazza della Cisterna ( main square of the town, surrounded by medieval houses of different dates)

With me as your guide it will be easier for you to listen and follow the tour despite the everyday crowd, and I’ll be happy to accommodate your requests by going faster through sites that don’t interest you or stopping longer to see what’s more relevant to you.
