Armando constructed “The David by Michelangelo, the Cathedral, the Baptistery, and the Duomo Museum” (now offered separately on his site) so we could spend 2 half-days instead of one whole day with more time inside the buildings and museums. Armando is splendid: super organized, knowledgeable, funny, and nice. In addition to a marvelous tour, he had fabulous recommendations for local meals, gelato, markets, and other sites that we went to see on our non-tour days. A wonderful guide, a wonderful tour!!

‘Florence in a Day’ is impossible, but Armando has created a tour that hits the highlights enough that you do feel like you’ve seen most of it. He is knowledgeable enough to fill in the gaps between sights with information that gives meaning to what you are looking at. I could have spent days really digging into the art with Armando if I only had the time. If you only have a day for Florence, this is the tour to take!

We started our tour as soon as we stepped out the door of our hotel with a warm welcome and immediately into the Ognissanti Church where Botticelli and Amerigo Vespucci were buried. We would have passed it by as it is just one of the many churches with a rich history. Armando knows his art history and gave us a wonderful one day tour through Florence and a relaxing lunch that was the best authentic Italian food we have ever had. Armando is a wealth of knowledge of Florence and every aspect of it. From history, to art and architecture, to politics. We covered a lot of information in a short period of time, focusing on the highlights. It was good that we ended in the Uffizi Gallery so that we could go back and take our time going back through to see and enjoy more. Armando was good with the kids (11, 14, 17, 19) but it was a lot of info for them.

I would give Armando 10 stars if I could. We had one day in Florence and he made excellent use of our time. He is extremely knowledgeable in the history, art and architecture of the Renaissance. He showed us the highlights of 3 museums and explained what we saw and how the artists created their masterpieces. He gave us lots of information but we didn’t feel overwhelmed. Armando kicked off our time in Italy by taking us on a private tour in the heart of Florence. He used his time with us very effectively and efficiently; talking on the way to new locations so that we could squeeze in all of the knowledge we craved about the city. The galleries were crowded, but Armando consistently navigated us to quiet corners with ease, making us feel like we had personal space and some sense of privacy in busy spaces. After the tour, he led us to an excellent, local lunch spot!

We drove to Pisa & spent 45 minutes walking the area on our own. We then drove to Florence to meet w/Armando & spent several hours on a walking tour. Armando is knowledgeable, pleasant, & organized. The pace was quick; we had many sites to see in 1 day. Armando highlighted key points & kept us moving quickly while allowing time for photos & answering our questions. We enjoyed a local Italian meal for lunch. Armando pre-booked tickets to the sites, so our waits in line were short to non-existent. This is of great value as lines were several hours long in most places. At the tour end, Armando returned us to our friendly driver who safely returned us to the ship port. The drive to the port is approximately 1.5 hours from Florence. We would book with this wonderful team again!
